The 2020s have officially begun which, logically, means
its time to spend a ton of time talking about the 2010s. With a complete decade
of Pennsylvania XC in the books, I ultimately decided it was to time to dive
back in and revisit the last 10 years of names, results, posts, comments and
all six versions of the Hershey course. This website will be dedicated to the
content I’ve compiled with that usual etrain flair.
I will spend one week on the site revisiting some of my
favorite stories from each year of the decade, starting with 2010 and ending
with 2019 (game changing innovation). Each week I will also take a look back at
a specific district within the PIAA and talk about some of the marquee runners
from each area during this 10-year span.
Is starting a multi-month set of posts about a sport that
most people have already moved on from (it is January after all) isn’t
necessarily the smartest idea, but hopefully you guys will still enjoy this
trip down memory lane with me. As always, if you’d like to join in on the
process, feel free to reach out to me. I’d love to get other insights or
interviews from some of my fellow running super fans.
Lastly, this thing will only spread by word of mouth, so
if you think this seems like a fun idea, spread the link around to your
friends, family, loved ones, hated ones, old teammates, head coaches, RJJL and Jonah
Gillespie-Sickman.
